Our Commitment to Solar Power

Growing Smiles is committed to the environment and to protecting and preserving our natural resources.  Our efforts to take real responsibility for the energy we use as a pediatric dental office and a member of the Lawrence, Kansas community started with how we built our new facility and how we have committed to alternative and renewable energy sources.

Since we opened the doors in 2017, we have utilized 88 solar panels on the west roof to offset the vast majority of our energy usage.

In the last 6 months of 2017, we saved 29,349.92 lb of C02 emissions.  That is the equivalent of over 739 new trees planted!  That is a lot for a little pediatric dentist in Douglas County!

Depending on the weather and time of year, our solar system provides 75% or more of our electricity.

Our goal is to make sure every child has a healthy smile – and a cleaner environment when they grow up!
